George H. Curren (Curreen?) was 27 years old when he enlisted in the 115th New York Infantry on 4 August 1862. While he joined at Milton, New York, his place of residence was Ballston, Saratoga County, New York. On 11 August 1862, he mustered into 'C' Company as orderly sergeant. Curreen was promoted to 1st sergeant on 26 August 1862, and then was commissioned to 2nd lieutenant on 20 February 1864, then finally to 1st lieutenant on 11 June 1864. He served in Company 'C' during all his promotions. He was listed as wounded at the Battle of Olustee, and also at Petersburg, Virginia, on 30 July 1864. He was discharged for disability due to sickness on 2 December 1864.
