Frederick Meyer (sometimes listed as Meyer or Myers) was 27 years old when he enlisted as a private in the 115th New York Infantry on 9 August 1862. He joined at Ephratah, New York, but his residence was not listed. On 16 August he was mustered into 'E' Company. He was taken prisoner with the rest of the regiment on 15 September 1862 at Harper's Ferry, Virginia, and paroled the following day. One site lists him as 8th corporal. Private Meyer mustered out on 17 June 1865, at Raleigh, North Carolina.
