Francis Raenhart was 22 years old when he enlisted on 1 March 1865 as a private in the 47th New York Infantry. While he enlisted at Brooklyn, New York, his residence was not listed. That same day he was mustered into 'I' Company. He was mustered out on 30 August 1865, at Raleigh, North Carolina.
