Private Robert J. Jones,
54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry

Robert J. Jones was a private in Co. I, 54th Massachusetts. He was a single, 20 year-old farmer from Hamilton, Ohio when he joined the regiment on April 28, 1863. He was reported missing on February 20, 1864 at the Battle of Olustee. It is supposed that he died a prisoner.
